1.0 FTE Office Secretary
10-month position
Joseph Brant Learning Centre (Brantford, ON)
Grand Erie District School Board represents more than 28,000 students in 58 elementary schools and 14 secondary schools within the City of Brantford and the counties of Brant, Haldimand and Norfolk, as well as students from Six Nations of the Grand River First Nation and Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. With a dedicated staff of more than 2,900, Grand Erie is committed to learning, leading and inspiring. The Education Centre is located in Brantford.

All submissions are to include a complete cover letter, resume, qualifications, and the names of three (3) professional references at least one of which must be a current supervisor (one document if submitted electronically). All new employees are required to provide an original Police Record Check (which includes a “vulnerable sector search”) acceptable to the Board prior to the commencement of employment.

Responsibilities:
- Assist with coordinating training, room bookings, meeting set up, minute taking, preparing and organizing attendance sheets, entries into ADS
- Support Professional Development sessions at JBLC as required (e.g., greeting participants, ordering and liaising with catering companies, meal set up and take down)
- Clerical support for purchasing/expense reconciliation
- Track purchase orders and ensure that products are ordered and delivered within required timelines
- Proficient with Excel to track and monitor data
- Reception support for visitors to JBLC
- Clerical support for Curriculum and Student Achievement Department including collating information for departmental reports
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Secondary School Graduation Diploma (Grade 12 or equivalent education)
- Strict adherence to the principles of confidentiality
- Able to work effectively and efficiently with minimum supervision
- Must have excellent planning & organizational skills, ability to multi-task with numerous competing timelines
- Basic bookkeeping skills
- Proficient with Board software systems i.e., Office 365, Power School, experience with databases
- Excellent keyboarding skills: speed and accuracy are essential
- Exemplary problem solving and customer service skills (involving parents and students)
