Employees and volunteers of YMCA of Southwestern Ontario are ambassadors for the Y both on and off the job. Position: Volleyball Referee
Location: Chatham
Start Date: 2024-09-06
Salary: 16.55 hourly (minimum wage)

In this role, you will:
1. Referee Volleyball matches for adults
2. Adhere to accepted safety practices and procedures in the use of all equipment and in
all activities: setting up and taking down volleyball nets
3. Assist in the collection of statistics including time and attendance.
4. Actively maintain the room(s) and equipment in good condition, safe environment and
equipment at all times: check for health and safety hazards when on duty; complete
incident report forms when necessary.
5. Monitor play in accordance with YMCA recreation volleyball league rules.
6. Communicate with Supervisor problems or concerns in a timely manner.
7. Participate in all staff meetings and training.
Education & Skills Qualifications:
• minimum grade 10 or equivalent
• must be 16 years of age or older
• OVA certified is an asset but not necessary
• first aid/cpr certified an asset
• knowledge of the game of Volleyball
