Indigenous Counselor 

TEMPORARY INDIGENOUS COUNSELOR

POSITION TITLE: Indigenous Counselor 
SALARY RANGE: $41.08-$47.79 per hour, plus 4% vacation pay
DATE OF VACANCY As soon as possible

POSITION SUMMARY: The Indigenous Counselor provides school-based prevention and intervention services to address the social and emotional barriers to learning for First Nations, Métis, and Inuit students in elementary, secondary and alternative school settings.
QUALIFICATIONS: Successful completion of a two-year Degree or Diploma in Child and Youth Counselling, Social Service Work or Child Studies and a minimum of one (1) year experience in a school Board or community agency providing counselling services to children and families.
This position is itinerant in nature and travel to different sites during the course of the work week is required.
The recruitment process requires a criminal background check for work with vulnerable persons.
